What is Evidence Based Chiropractic Care

Like any profession today, there are many differences within each profession.  Every teacher in any school will approach problems and teach their class differently. The same applies for Chiropractors.  Many variables shape how a chiropractor may treat.  The school they went to, their undergraduate degree, their interests, their continuing education courses they may have taken and their overall approach to patients are just some of these variables which gives each chiropractor their unique approach and treatment stretegies.  Within the chiropractic world, many chiropractors have different beliefs and philosophies.  Some chiropractors are subluxation based and focus mainly on the spine and misalignments of the vertebrae.  Dr. Kersten is not this type of chiropractor and has not been trained in this manner.

Dr. Kersten uses many different techniques depending on the condition, when treating various conditions relating not only to the spine but to the whole neuromuskuloskeletal system.  Besides low back and neck pain, Dr. Kersten can treat many conditions such as rotator cuff injuries, knee pain, ankle sprains, plantar fasciosis, etc.  The different techniques he uses are based upon scientific research and human anatomy and physiology hence the term "evidence based".  It is a natural, scientific and effective approach to your health.

So how do you know how a certain chiropractor diagnoses and treats their patients?  Ask them.  Call their office, ask questions and ask for information on your condition or their treatments.  There should be nothing to hide.  Getting answers like "Just Trust Me" or being cut off short because of lack of time is inexcusable.

If you have any questions or would like to talk to Dr. Kersten, call his offices and arrange for a free consultation.
